Visual Artist & Founder
Mahmoud Marey
The artist Mahmoud Marey is a contemporary Egyptian visual artist.
He graduated from the Faculty of Art Education at Al-Azhar University and is a member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists, the One Shot Artists Group, and the Egyptian Inventors Association, reflecting a diverse practice between art, research, and experimentation.
His work is rooted in the belief that art is an extension of identity and the memory of place. He has established his studio in the historic Darb Al-Ahmar area, where craft and history continuously intersect, becoming a living source of inspiration rather than just a backdrop.
His artistic approach reinterprets Egyptian and Islamic heritage through a contemporary lens, using unconventional materials to create works that go beyond form into meaning, redefining concepts of balance, space, and symbolism.
His philosophy is that true beauty is not imposed on a space, but belongs to it and gradually reveals its essence over time.
